STORY STRATEGY & BOOK Coaching
Let’s Write Something Beautiful Together
You started your novel dreams with a vision. I’m here to help you build the strategy, confidence, and momentum to make it real.

Meet Your Coach
Hi, I’m Cate. I’m So Glad You’re Here.
I spent years writing in the margins of my own unbalanced, busy life — making mistakes, figuring things out the hard way, and eventually finding a creative path that felt both purposeful and productive.
I believe strategy and soul aren’t opposites. The best books are written with both — clear story strategy and a deep connection to your “story soul.” That’s the kind of support I bring to every client.

Writer Resources
The 5 Layers of Story
• S – Setup (Exposition & Inciting Incident): Establish your protagonist’s ordinary world, their immediate desires, and the catalyst—the inciting incident—that disrupts their status quo. This layer forces the hero to leave their comfort zone.
• T – Tension (Rising Action): Introduce obstacles, subplots, and rising stakes. This layer creates cause-and-effect scenarios where the hero is tested, fails, and must adapt to an increasingly unfamiliar world.
• O – Obstacles (Midpoint & Reversal): Challenge your characters physically and emotionally. At the midpoint, a major plot twist or false victory reverses the story’s trajectory, leading the protagonist into the “black moment”.
• R – Resolution (The Climax & Falling Action): Bring the primary conflicts to a head. The protagonist pays a heavy price but ultimately applies their learned skills to face the villain or primary problem, tying up subplots.
• Y – Yield (Theme & Transformation): Show how the protagonist has fundamentally changed. This final layer delivers the story’s core emotional weight, answering the “so what?” by conveying a profound moral, lesson, or philosophical truth.
